TORONTO -- Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX) will supply the metal for the gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games in Toronto.
The miner will be the official metal supplier and provide the raw materials for the more than 4,000 medals to be awarded.
The medals will be designed and produced by the Royal Canadian Mint.
Barrick says the metal will come from its mines across the Americas.
The company has operations in six Pan American countries, including Canada, Argentina, Chile, Dominican Republic, Peru and the United States.
Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B) supplied the metal used in the medals awarded at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
