Motorcyclist killed in afternoon crash involving two vehicles

One motorcyclist has died following an afternoon crash with two vehicles in Oro-Medonte.

On Monday, just before 1:30 p.m., Orillia OPP, Simcoe County Paramedics and Oro-Medonte Fire were dispatched to Lakeshore Road east for reports of a collision.

The road was closed for several hours while police investigated the scene.

Officials say the man on the motorcycle had allegedly struck two vehicles and was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The motorcyclist has been identified as a 64-year-old resident of Oro-Medonte Township.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team attended the area and are assisting with the investigation.
