Man struck by falling tree limb in Wasaga Beach

The March 29, 2025, ice storm that caused significant damage across the region left various large tree branches and limbs dangling as crews work to prune and cleanup the aftermath.

One person was taken to the hospital after being struck by a large tree limb in Wasaga Beach.

A fire official told CTV News there were high winds in the area just minutes before the incident happened in the area of Main Street and River Road West.

Fire Chief Craig Williams said the man was conscious when emergency crews arrived. He was taken by paramedics for medical treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Environment Canada issued a weather alert Tuesday, noting strong winds upwards of 80 kilometres per hour and warning the public about the potential for loose objects to be tossed by the winds.
