Man charged for smashing store and car windows: Barrie police

Police in Barrie arrested a male suspect who allegedly caused widespread property damage along Dunlop Street early Saturday morning.

According to the Barrie Police Service, officers received a 5:48 a.m. call about a man who broke the windows of several businesses and cars in the area.

Police say the man was located shortly thereafter and that he committed acts of assault on the officers.

The man was arrested and charged with assaulting police and multiple counts of mischief.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
