Grey skies, significant rainfall in effect across Simcoe County

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Simcoe County.

Just before 4 p.m. on Thursday, the national weather agency noted that residents can expect to see 20 to 40 millimeters of rain into Friday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible for parts of the region.

According to Environment Canada, 15 to 30 millimeters of rainfall has already been reported since Wednesday night.

Locals can expect grey skies and periods of rain on Friday with more showers leading into the weekend.
