Barrie city services closed on Victoria Day

Fireworks are permitted in Barrie on Victoria Day. Tue., May 6, 2025.

Barrie city services affected by the Victoria Day holiday Monday, May 19 include:

• Recreation/Community Centres will be closed on Monday.
• City Hall will be closed on Monday.
• There will be no transit service on Monday.
• There will be no changes to the waste collection schedule on Monday; curbside collection will occur as regularly scheduled.

Fireworks:

Residents are permitted to use fireworks on the Victoria Day holiday Monday. Fireworks are only permitted until 11 p.m. on the day of the celebration.

Parking:

Downtown parking (on-street and lots) is free on Monday’s statutory holiday.

Parking is not free in the marina and hybrid parking lots on statutory holidays. A digital waterfront permit is required to park for free at specific waterfront areas.
