Alleged Alliston drug dealers arrested following OPP bail compliance investigation

Alleged drug dealers, Darryl and Kody Berdan, find themselves behind bars again.

Alleged drug dealer Darryl Berdan is back behind bars alongside his brother.

Provincial police say Berdan, 40, was arrested a week ago following a bail compliance investigation with a search of a home along King Street North in Alliston. Investigators said they seized scales, cell phones, knives, a replica firearm, and a loaded shotgun with ammunition.

Berdan, also known by the first name Kenny or Kenneth, was charged with failing to comply with a probation order, four counts of failing to comply with a release order, eight weapons counts, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Berdan’s younger brother Kody, 36, was also charged with trafficking cocaine, several counts of weapons offences and five counts of failing to comply with a release order.

In late 2024, the elder Berdan is alleged to have been dealing drugs across town when he was arrested by provincial police who said he and three others were pulled over for a traffic stop of a vehicle with an obstructed rear license plate along 8th Avenue.

Officers said they seized a baggie containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, along with more than $1,600 in cash and two cell phones.

A few weeks before that arrest, Nottawasaga provincial police allege Berdan was pulled over while travelling on Young Street in Alliston with an obstructed rear plate. He was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking along with having proceeds of crime under $5,000. Berdan also faces three counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

His charges stemming from those allegations, for which he was released from custody, are scheduled to be addressed in a Bradford courtroom in June.

The accused return to court by video from jail in Penetanguishene later this month. The allegations against them have not been tested in court.
