Shepody Healing Centre inmate dies of ‘natural causes’: Correctional Service Canada

An inmate from Shepody Healing Centre, a multi-level security facility in Dorchester, N.B., has died while in custody.

Joseph Turple died on April 24 of “apparent natural causes,” according to a news release from Correctional Service Canada.

Turple was 64 years old at the time of his death and was serving a life sentence that began on Dec. 20, 2001.

Correctional Service Canada says it is their policy to review the circumstances involving the death of any inmate and to notify police and the coroner.
