Missing 72-year-old Moncton woman found safe

The RCMP says a 72-year-old woman who was reported missing in Moncton, N.B., over the weekend has been found safe.

Police said Sunday the woman was last seen around 12:30 p.m., walking westbound on John Street near Vaughan Harvey Boulevard.

Police expressed concern for her well-being as she suffers from a medical condition that may cause her to become disoriented. They said Moncton residents should expect to see an increased police presence in the city as a search was underway.

The RCMP issued an update Monday before noon, saying the woman has been found safe.
