Man charged after student stabbed at Halifax-area high school

A 20-year-old Lawrencetown, N.S. man is facing charges after an 18-year-old student was allegedly stabbed at a high school in Middle Sackville, N.S. Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to Millwood High School around 3:30 p.m. after a staff member found a student suffering from stab wounds in the rear parking lot of the school.

The student was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was arrested in Middle Sackville a short time later and taken into custody.

Nicholas MacDonald is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

He remains in custody and is due to appear in Dartmouth provincial court Thursday.
