EDMONTON - The Alberta Liberals say they disagree with federal Liberal Leader Bob Rae over the merits of the Northern Gateway pipeline project.
Provincial leader Raj Sherman said in a news release Tuesday that Rae has "suggested he does not approve the construction" of the pipeline.
Sherman said Rae is on "the wrong side of this issue."
Enbridge Inc. wants to build the pipeline across Alberta and B.C. to ship oil to Asia.
Sherman said the project would help ensure that Alberta's most important export -- oil and gas -- reaches the world market.
He said it's the foundation of Alberta's prosperity, paying for schools, hospitals and roads.
