Adrian Ghobrial
Adrian Ghobrial is a correspondent for CTV NATIONAL NEWS, based in Toronto.
An accomplished and award-winning journalist, Ghobrial has reported on everything from high-profile criminal investigations to the Toronto Raptors’ 2019 NBA championship win, to interviews with some of the world’s most influential figures.
In 2023, he reported from Ukraine, covering the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion. In 2022, Ghobrial travelled to Texas to cover the tragic aftermath of the school shooting in Uvalde, and the controversial NRA convention in Houston. He also travelled to Port aux Basques, N.L. to cover the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Fiona, speaking exclusively with residents who were nearly swept out to sea amid the surge.
His previous work includes breaking exclusive stories such as the sexual assault case at St. Michael’s College School and the decades of child abuse conducted by members of the Basilian Fathers of Toronto. In 2021, Ghobrial was awarded with a National RTDNA award for Best Local Investigative News Series, for his year-long investigation into the Basilian Fathers.
Before joining CTV NATIONAL NEWS, Ghobrial served as a reporter for CityNews and CityTV for more than 15 years, where he filled virtually every role in the newsroom from show producer to writer, documentary director, and breaking news reporter.
Ghobrial holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Fanshawe College. A first generation Canadian, he was born in Toronto and raised in a British-Egyptian household.
He speaks English.
