In a post-election United States plagued by division, a simple text message mix up has resulted in unlikely Thanksgiving plans for two Arizona families.

Jamal Hinton, 17, received a text message, said to be from his grandmother, inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner with Justin and Amanda--people he doesn’t know.

“I thought it’s either a wrong number or my grandma learned how to use a phone,” he told NBC News.

Hinton then asked for a photo of the sender to confirm his suspicions. Instead of his own grandmother, he received a photo of Wanda Dench.

“You’re not my grandma. Can I still get a plate though?” he replied, sending a photo of himself to prove he wasn’t her grandson.

Dench’s answer, however, was one he likely didn’t expect.

“I said sure you can. That’s what grandmas do,” she said.

Hinton and Dench met for the first time on Thursday. His entire family will now be attending Thanksgiving dinner at Dench’s house on Nov. 24.

On Tuesday, the conversation was posted on Twitter by user Certo Nego with the caption; “Somebody grandma is coming in clutch this year!! Ayee!!!”

The post has since received nearly 400,000 likes and more than 180,000 retweets.
