NEW DELHI -- Police in northern India say gunmen have attacked an air force base in Punjab state and are exchanging fire with security forces.
Police official Ashwini Kumar says at least one of the attackers has been killed at the Pathankot air force base on Saturday morning.
Few other details are immediately available.
Pathankot is 430 kilometres north of New Delhi.
