ATHENS, Greece - Authorities in Greece say a navy helicopter has crashed into the eastern Aegean Sea, killing at least two of the three-man crew.

The bodies of two crew members were found Thursday amid the wreckage of the Bell 212 helicopter on the islet of Kinaros, near Leros island, Greece's joint chiefs of staff said in a statement.

Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, chief of Greece's armed forces, said the crash occurred during a nighttime training exercise and that the pilots had not communicated any problem beforehand. An investigation has been launched into the crash.

Greece has a strong military presence in the eastern Aegean amid an ongoing dispute with neighbour and NATO ally Turkey over sea and airspace boundaries.
