The Winnipeg Police Service is asking the public for help identifying two men allegedly involved in an assault. Police said a man was walking June 7 at around 2:45 p.m. near Broadway Avenue and Fort Street when he was assaulted by two unknown men. The 49-year-old victim was allegedly confronted while leaving Upper Fort Garry Landmark Park on Fort Street. One man used a rock to hit him in the upper body, officers say. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition. Police said one suspect wore a green sweater and black pants, and the second suspect wore a sleeveless white shirt and white shorts. Correction: A media release sent by the Winnipeg Police Service Wednesday morning said the incident occurred May 7. This has since been corrected to June 7.
