HALIFAX - Halifax police are investigating after a woman's body was discovered Saturday in a local park.

Investigators say the death is considered suspicious and an autopsy will be performed over the weekend.

Police spokeswoman Theresa Rath says the woman has been identified, though her name has not yet been released.

Rath will only say the woman was in her 20s and lived in the Halifax area.

A man called police after finding the body while walking in Shubie Park in Dartmouth.

Rath says the body was found on a dead-end path off the main trail in an area known as Vivian's Way.

She says police are asking for the public's help in locating the woman's vehicle, a red 2000 Chevrolet van.
