The days-long search for two paddleboarders who fell into a lake in Squamish, B.C., has ended in tragedy. A search effort was launched on Saturday afternoon after a witness at Browning Lake reported the pair had entered the water and did not resurface. Murrin Provincial Park was closed as Squamish Search and Rescue, the B.C. Conservation Officer Service, Squamish Fire Rescue, B.C. Emergency Health Services and RCMP Air One looked for them. On Tuesday, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team searched the lake and recovered the bodies of both paddleboarders. “We are deeply grateful for the dedicated support and co-ordinated efforts of our specialized teams and partner agencies who assisted in this search and recovery” Staff Sgt. Sasha Banks of the Squamish RCMP said in a statement.
