TOFINO, B.C. - The tsunami warning for the West Coast may have come and gone without causing much of a wave, but the Twitterverse was aflutter with news that the stars of the latest Twilight film were evacuated because of the warning.

Cast member Tinsel Korey tweeted a melodramatic adieu after filming on Breaking Dawn near the Vancouver Island town of Tofino, B.C., was stalled by the incoming tsunami caused by the devastating earthquake that his Japan.

The tweet was quickly picked up by People magazine and spread like wildfire over the Internet, prompting some less-than-kind responses about the priorities of media covering the massive quake and tsunami that has killed hundreds.

Korey, the Toronto-born actress who plays Emily Young in the film series, sent out her thoughts and prayers to the people of Japan.

The expansive beaches of Tofino have played a recurring role in the popular vampire series.

Korey didn't mention the other stars involved in the evacuation but fansites have reported that stars Taylor Lautner and Kristin Stewart have been spotted around town during filming of the fourth instalment of the series.
