Toronto Fire says a plane successfully landed at Billy Bishop airport on Thursday morning after smoke was reported on the plane. Crews were dispatched to the downtown airport after issues were reported with an incoming Porter Airlines flight, which landed at 10:25 a.m. Toronto Fire said 47 passengers were on board the plane and have all been evacuated. In a statement to CP24, Porter Airlines said their crew noticed some smoke after they arrived normally at the Toronto airport, and confirmed nobody sustained injuries. “They (the crew) were able to quickly rectify this by following established procedures and landed uneventfully after requesting priority access,” the statement reads. “Airport services were available to provide support as a precaution, but not required.”
