Police have made an arrest in relation to a "weapons-laden" vehicle near a G20 venue in downtown Toronto.
A 53-year-old man was arrested near the Novotel hotel on The Esplanade, near Yonge Street.
Late Thursday, he was charged with weapons dangerous.
The weapons confiscated included: a chainsaw, sledge hammer, baseball bat and a crossbow.
However, a police spokesperson said the incident was not considered a G20 threat.
"There's no evidence to indicate or suggest that it's G20-related," Tony Vella said. "The area is rendered safe -- it's controlled now."
Some fuel containers were also in the vehicle, which police removed.
Two police officers were on scene in hazmat suits, testing suspicious fluids.
The car came to the attention to police because it looked unsafe, with an unusual storage-device attached to the roof.
A police spokesperson on scene said the man arrested has been taken off for questioning.
Earlier, police arrested two people from an affluent Toronto neighbourhood on explosives charges related to a G20 investigation.
