TORONTO -- UFC president Dana White says the UFC has a 2015 show pencilled in for Toronto but plans could change.

"We're scheduled to do something in Canada later this year. We've got everything on hold right now to see if New York happens. So we'll see," White told a stop on the UFC 189 World Championship Tour on Friday.

The answer drew boos from the crowd at the Toronto Eaton Center.

"Yeah, I know, I know. Bad answer," said White.

The UFC has been trying for years to get New York state to sanction mixed martial arts so it can stage a show in New York City.

A September 2014 show in Toronto, featuring a rematch between light-heavyweight Jon (Bones) Jones and Sweden's Alexander (The Mauler) Gustafsson, was shifted to Las Vegas.

UFC 186 is scheduled for April 25 in Montreal. A televised Fight Night show is also planned for Canada this year, possibly in Saskatchewan.
