TORONTO - A pair of Raptors assistant coaches have paid for Toronto's poor playoff performance.

Tom Sterner and Bill Bayno have been fired from Dwane Casey's coaching staff, a league source confirmed Monday night.

The moves come a few weeks after the Raptors were swept in four games by the Washington Wizards in the opening round of the NBA playoffs. They also come on the heels of reports last week that Casey would maintain his job as head coach, but there would likely be changes to his staff.

Sterner had been with the Raptors since 2011, and was popular with Raptors fans for his intense half-time game interviews. He's also coached with Orlando, Golden State, and the Dallas Mavericks.

Bayno, who joined the Raptors in 2013 after stints with Portland and Minnesota, worked in player development, spending much of his time working with young centre Jonas Valanciunas. Bayno also had a lengthy college coaching career.

The Raptors set a franchise record with their 49 wins this season. But their lofty playoff hopes quickly fell flat in four losses to the Wizards.
