While Jon Bon Jovi wants to become a NFL owner one day in the future, he's not currently pursuing the Buffalo Bills, the star's publicist says.

Ken Sunshine called a CBSSports.com report that claimed the New Jersey rocker is among the parties "positioning" to make a bid on the NFL team "preposterous."

Over the weekend, Bon Jovi was reported to be joining forces with Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment heads Larry Tanenbaum and Tim Leiweke to make a bid for the Bills, and bring them to Toronto.

Sunshine told the Associated Press on Monday that Bon Jovi has too much respect for Bills’ owner Ralph Wilson to be considering joining talks to buy the team.

Wilson, 95, has said he has no interest in selling the franchise during his lifetime. However, team will be up for sale after his death.

When asked on Monday about whether Toronto could theoretically support another football team, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne said she wouldn't want anything to hurt the Toronto Argos franchise, but supports general sports tourism.

"The more we can have events that create enthusiasm in the city, and draw people from other jurisdictions to the city, to the region -- that's a good thing," she told reporters at an unrelated news conference. "But my guiding principle is I wouldn't want to hurt the Argos."
