SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Olympic gold medallist Michael Phelps took charge of the men's 200 individual medley and raced to an impressive victory, his second win of the Arena Pro Series on Sunday night.

Phelps' next focus is the national championships, where he expects to swim the 100 fly, 100 individual medley and 200 individual medley, though he hasn't confirmed anything.

Calling his two victories a confidence booster, Phelps said he was ready to go to Colorado Springs for a grueling three weeks of training.

Olympic champion Missy Franklin, in her first long course event of the season, finished third in the 200 backstroke, an event in which she holds the world record, and sixth in the 100 freestyle on the final day.

Hungary's Katinka Hosszu won the women's 200 individual medley and the 200 backstroke, her fourth and fifth victories of the weekend.

Russian Yulia Efimova won the women's 50 breast, edging Trojan Swim Club teammate Jessica Hardy by a half-second. Efimova will be competing at the world championships in Kazan, Russia, later this summer.
