NEW YORK -- Donald Fehr says a new proposal in collective bargaining is "about as good" as the NHL Players' Association can do.
The offer was tabled during a meeting on Wednesday morning.
Fehr, the NHLPA executive director, indicated the union had put forward a percentage-based proposal that takes into account the damage caused by the lockout.
He said the sides are $182-million apart over the five-year deal.
The NHL is expected to offer a response on Wednesday afternoon.
