A Belgian soccer fan found herself with a brief modelling contract and the unofficial title 'most beautiful World Cup supporter' after a photo of her cheering at the tournament in Brazil went viral.

The contract was short-lived, however, as a hunting photo of the fan has sparked some controversy.

Axelle Despiegelaere was candidly photographed cheering during Belgium's World Cup match against Russia on June 22. Sporting the Belgian colours of red, yellow and black, pom poms, and a hat with horns, Despiegelaere's photo went viral on Twitter.

Upon her return to Belgium, the 17-year-old set up a Facebook page, which quickly amassed tens of thousands of followers. Despiegelaere announced via social media that she nabbed a modelling contract with beauty brand L'Oreal Professionel, and appeared in a number of promotional videos for the beauty brand on their Facebook page

L'Oreal has since told various media outlets that Despiegelaere is not a spokesperson for the brand and her contract has been "completed."

The announcement came after a photograph on social media showed her posing next to a dead animal while holding a rifle on a hunting trip.
