Selena Gomez pulled out of two concerts after her mother reportedly suffered a miscarriage.

The 19-year-old singer had been scheduled to appear at the B96 Jingle Bash 2011 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago on Saturday and the 106.1 KISS FM's Jingle Bell Bash at the WaMu Theater in Seattle on Sunday but cancelled both commitments, with her spokesperson citing a "family emergency" for the cancellation.

According to E! Online, Selena pulled out of the shows after learning her mother Mandy Teefey had lost her unborn baby.

The entire Seattle concert was postponed because fellow performers OneRepublic also had to pull out because frontman Ryan Tedder was ordered to go on vocal rest by medics.

Selena learned of the family emergency on Friday (16.12.11) while in the audience at Power 106's Cali Christmas 2011 concert in Los Angeles and immediately left to return home to her mother and stepfather Brian Teefey.

Last month, the 'Wizards of Waverley Place' actress had spoken of her excitement at becoming a "big sister".

She tweeted: "Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news... My mommys carrying my baby brother or sister :) I'm the happiest girl in the world! (sic)"

Mandy, a former actress, was married to Selena's father Ricardo Joel Gomez until the Disney star was five years old. She went on to tie the knot with Brian in 2006.
