It looks like the iPhone 7 won't be the only new flagship carrying a dual-lens camera.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 is now said to have a dual-lens rear camera, 12 and 13 megapixels in resolution, which would enable greater clarity as well as the production of professional-level image effects.

The handset is also thought to have an 8 megapixel front-facing camera in addition to the 4k display that had previously been rumored.

The SamMobile network of specialist Samsung-oriented news sites also associates the S8 with an iris scanner.

Such information follows Apple's August 29 announcement of a September 7 presentation at which it is expected to unveil the iPhone 7.

The current Samsung Galaxy S7 was unveiled February 2016 and introduced the following month.
