When the sun comes out there's nothing more refreshing than enjoyingan ice cold beer on a patio and watching the world go by, but those pesky UV rays get everywhere and before you know it you're left with a warm pint.

Luckily one innovative entrepreneur has come up with a solution: the Bru-V glass.

Designed to filter out harmful UV rays, Bru-V is an amber-colored pint glass which protects your beer and prevents it from developing the "skunky" taste which often occurs when it warms up.

Upon direct exposure to light, the riboflavin in beer breaks down the isohumulone molecules, which come from the hops, resulting in an unappetizing taste.

However Bru-V deflects the negative effects of the rays thanks to a special filter coating.

Alongside its Kickstarter campaign, Bru-V is also running an educational campaign to "end skunky beer forever," featuring a series of coasters with scientific explanations of the dangers of exposing beer to UV rays.

The first batch of Bru-V glasses is expected to ship in September.
