The British start-up This Place has demonstrated a Google Glass app that, when used in combination with an EEG (electroencephalographic) headset, allows the wearer to control the device through brain activity alone. So far, it is already possible to take a photo and post it to social networks entirely through brainwaves. And that's just the beginning.
The demo was carried out with Google Glass and the MindWave Mobile headset by Neurosky, which is capable of detecting and analyzing brain activity. The app intervenes to translate the brainwave patterns into software commands and transmit them to Google Glass.
The first feat of the new system: allowing a user to take a photo and post it to Twitter or Facebook simply by using the power of thought. The MindRDR software also analyzes the user's levels of concentration and attention when taking the photo, and this info is attached to the image and shared on social networks.
This Place decided to make the code for its Google Glass app available online for free at GitHub so that other developers can access it and find new applications for the technology.
