Police investigating after vehicle fire at Saskatoon Airport

Saskatoon police are investigating after a truck caught fire in a parking area at Saskatoon Airport Friday afternoon.

Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) crews were called at 2:34 p.m. after multiple callers including STARS air ambulance personnel reported a vehicle burning in the airport lot.

When firefighters arrived, they found a light duty truck fully engulfed in flames.

SFD says bystanders attempted to extinguish the fire using portable fire extinguishers before crews knocked down the flames and stopped it from spreading to nearby vehicles.

No civilians or firefighters were injured, according to the fire department.

The fire was completely extinguished by 3:22 p.m., and the scene was turned over to police for further investigation.
