TORONTO - Canadian ballet superstar Rex Harrington is getting married.

The National Ballet of Canada says Harrington and his partner Robert Hope plan to wed in the summer of 2011.

The couple have been together for six years and got engaged in France in March.

Harrington is currently the national ballet's artist-in-residence.

The charismatic Harrington -- who has been nicknamed "Sexy Rexy" -- is one of the country's most recognizable male dancers.

He joined the National Ballet of Canada in 1983 and became principal dancer in 1988.

Harrington's many accolades include becoming an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2000 and receiving a star on Canada's Walk of Fame in 2005.

The 47-year-old retired from the stage in 2004 but returns this summer in the role of Prince Gremin in "Onegin."

The production runs June 19 to 25 in Toronto.
