Sen. Don Meredith has been kicked out of the Conservative caucus, after the Toronto Star reported he was facing an accusation that he engaged in a sexual relationship with a teenager.

The girl alleged the Pentecostal pastor started a relationship with her two years ago, when she was 16 years old, and they had sex twice after she turned 18.

The girl showed a series of text messages to the Star that were allegedly sent by Meredith.

One of them references a break-up -- the girl says the relationship ended this year.

"God has spoken to me and is not happy with me, I should be leading you … not making you," Meredith allegedly wrote.

Shortly after the story appeared on the Star’s website, a Conservative spokesperson said Meredith was no longer a member of the party’s caucus.

Meredith, 50, was appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2010.

He did not respond to CTV’s requests for a comment on the allegations.
