More than a dozen people are running to be the next Conservative leader but so far only two are receiving the bulk of endorsements from MPs.
Andrew Scheer, MP for Regina-Qu’Appelle and the former speaker of the House, has at least 23 of his 96 fellow MPs lined up behind him ahead of the May 27 vote.
Erin O’Toole, a former veterans affairs minister who represents Durham in Ontario, is not far behind with the backing of at least 15 fellow MPs.
Maxime Bernier, Michael Chong, Kellie Leitch and Lisa Raitt also have a handful of endorsements.
