OTTAWA -- Canada will spend $6 million on security, conflict management and human rights in Somalia.
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird also says another $500,000 will be spent on preventing forced child marriages in the East African country.
The announcement comes after Baird met Somalia's deputy prime minister, Fawzia Yusuf Adam, today in Ottawa.
She says terrorism is not unique to her country and is a global problem.
Adam also says the militant group al-Shabaab is on their last legs and near defeat.
The group claimed responsibility for the recent massacre at a shopping mall in Kenya.
