Marilyn Bergeron has been gone for nearly a year.

The 25-year-old had finished moving back home to Quebec City the day before she disappeared on Feb. 17, 2008, after living in Montreal for three years.

In the hours before she vanished, she seemed upset and distraught. Her family tried to ask her what was wrong, but she wouldn't say.

"My mother said: 'Are you afraid of something?' and she said: 'Yes, I am,'" her sister, Nathalie Bergeron, told CTV Montreal.

"So she went to Quebec City, she had a conversation with my parents, but we couldn't get her to talk. She would only cry."

When her mother, Andre Bchard, asked if her daughter had been assaulted, she wouldn't answer. But the two women cried together.

The next morning, Bergeron told her family she felt better and she went for a walk.

Bergeron was spotted at a caf near Quebec City later that afternoon and she also went to an ATM that same day. She was wearing a long, black jacket with a fake fur hood, as well as black boots and grey velvet trousers.

She has not been seen since.

Today, her family is desperate for news of what happened to her.

On Sunday, Bergeron's family and friends handed out flyers in nearly 40 Canadian cities, including New Brunswick, Toronto and Vancouver. It's their way of showing that Bergeron is still in their hearts and they are hoping someone will come forward with a clue that will help them find out what has happened to her.

Police are looking into all possible scenarios, including human trafficking, kidnapping or murder.

Bergeron is described as being 5'7" in height and weighing about 115 pounds. She has brown hair, green eyes, is bilingual and has a tattoo of a Pegasus on her chest.
