Kristen Bell has given birth to a baby girl.

The news was announced by Kristen's actor husband Dax Shepard, who took to Twitter on Friday to confirm that the 34-year-old star had given birth to a healthy baby girl.

Shepard -- who married Bell in 2013 after five years of dating -- said: "Delta Bell Shepard is here."

"She doesn't look like either Kristen or me, but we're gonna keep her anyway."

The couple's first child, Lincoln Bell Shepard, was born in March 2013 and Bell has warned her husband that the dynamic around their household is set to change once again.

The blonde beauty joked: "The estrogen has now hit critical mass! Good luck, Dax. And welcome to the world DELTA BELL SHEPARD."

Bell revealed in September that she and her husband had settled on the name for the second child well before the birth.

However, she said it's something they'd given a lot of thought to prior to making the decision.

Bell explained: "We've settled on (a name), thankfully.

"It's a lot of pressure, especially because we felt Lincoln was so perfect."
