J. K. Rowling's "Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," the second instalment in her "Magic in North America" series, has released in video and text on Pottermore.com.

The story tells the tale of a young orphan who, stowed away on the Mayflower's voyage from England to America with "little more than the clothes on her back and a stolen wand."

But despite the small beginnings and challenging path, she eventually becomes founder of the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Also announced at the same time was a new feature for users of the site, who can now be sorted into one of four Ilvermorny houses: Horned Serpent, Pukwudgie, Thunderbird and Wampus.

Previous instalment "History of Magic in North America" was published in March.

The series provides a background to November feature film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
