CALGARY -- A Calgary man charged in the city's worst mass murder will stand trial.
A judge has ruled there is enough evidence for Matthew de Grood to stand trial on five counts of first-degree murder.
A date for his trial will be scheduled on May 29.
De Grood, who is 23, was charged last April after five young people were stabbed to death during a house party to celebrate the end of the school year.
He has been in custody and has received mental treatment since his arrest.
Friends and family members of victims Jordan Segura, Kaiti Perras, Josh Hunter, Zackariah Rathwell and Lawrence Hong packed the small courtroom for the hearing.
