1. Quake off B.C.: A magnitude 6.7 earthquake hit off the northern coast of Vancouver Island near Port Hardy late Wednesday. The initial quake was followed by three more earthquakes overnight -- the strongest measuring 5.0 -- but no tsunami warnings were issued.

2. Condemned, relocated, resold: CTV News has learned that as many as 40 homes slated for demolition on the flood-ravaged Lake St. Martin First Nation reserve in Manitoba were moved off the land and sold for about $20,000 each. In some cases, the sold homes still contained their former residents' belongings.

3. FDA on E-cigs: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration will issue its proposals for regulating the e-cigarette industry, expected to include a ban on sales to minors as well as health warning label and approval requirements for new products.

5. Apple's raking it in: The Cupertino, Calif. company's stock soared in extended trading, after announcing its results for the first three months of the year yesterday. Among Apple's plans for its growing stockpile of cash: buying back an additional $30 billion of its stock, raising its quarterly dividend by 8 per cent, and splitting its stock for the first time in nine years.
