Chain restaurant Boston Pizza is asking customers to vote on a number of new pizza-themed innovations, including a "pizza cake" and "pizza mints," with a promise to make some of the popular items.

Patrons can vote for their favourite innovations on a website dedicated to profiling each of the wacky creations.

Topping the list of 13 is the monstrous "pizza cake," which appears to be a cake made up of six different pizza pies stacked on top of each other.

The company describes the confection as "great for birthdays, bar mitzvahs, weddings, and even lonely nights watching infomercials."

As of Saturday morning, the cake had racked up more than 8,250 votes.

Coming in a distant second are "pizza mints," which appear to be tiny pizza-shaped mints. The company says the mints will be available in 27 different pizza flavours.

While the list contains a number of gag items, including a hard-shell "pizza protector" case and a gas-powered pizza cutter, there are also a number of items that are currently available on the Boston Pizza menu.

"Pizzaburger sliders," "pizza tacos" and "Sriracha chicken pizza," are among the "game changers" currently offered by Boston Pizza.

According to the company's Facebook page the "pizza game changers" voting campaign ends on June 1.
