In a rush this morning? Here’s our time-saving guide to today’s five biggest stories: Edmonton arrests in connection with a toddler found dead; two very different politicians advance in the French presidential election; a Vancouver woman speaks out about fighting ISIS in Syria; two Canadians are added to the U.S. terrorist watch list; and only two Canadian teams are left in the running for the Stanley Cup.

Plus, for Money Monday, CTV's Chief Financial Commentator Pattie Lovett-Reid has six tips from the wealthy you can put in to practice.

If you're looking for a newscast to catch up on the morning's top stories, watch CTV News On the Go.

1. Toddler death: Police have arrested a man and woman "believed to be responsible" for the death of a toddler whose body was found outside an Edmonton church. Investigators are expected to release more information later on Monday.

2. French election: Centrist Emmanuel Macron and far-right populist Marine Le Pen advance to the runoff in France's presidential election, remaking the country's political landscape in the process and setting up a showdown over French participation in the European Union.

3. Canadian fighting ISIS: Hanna Bohman, 48, is sharing her war stories after twice travelling to Syria to join Kurdish fighters in the battle against Islamic State militants. The B.C. woman says she rarely felt fear while in dangerous territory and is planning to head back to Syria soon.

4. Canadians added to terrorist list: Two Canadians are the latest to be added to the United States' list of most-wanted terrorists. The federal government wouldn't comment on the addition of Farah Mohamed Shirdon, 24, and Tarek Sakr, 30, to the list.

5. Then there were two: Only two Canadian NHL teams are left in the playoffs, after the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens were eliminated over the weekend. The Leafs lost in overtime to the Washington Capitals and the Canadiens fell to the New York Rangers.

And one more thing for "Money Monday": It's important to change your money mindset if you want to get real about achieving authentic financial success, CTV's Chief Financial Commentator Pattie Lovett-Reid says in this week's edition of her Money Monday column. She's gathered the top six habits of the wealthy that you can put in to good use.
