Tractor trailer fire shuts down portion of Highway 401

A portion of westbound lanes on Highway 401 have reopened in London after a tractor trailer fire.

Crews were on scene around 11 p.m. Thursday evening.

Video posted to social media by London fire shows heavy smoke coming from the contents of the trailer.

There’s no word on what the vehicle was carrying or how the fire started.

Highway 401 was closed westbound between Veterans and Highbury, but has since reopened.
