A charred vehicle sat on the side of Lamont Drive and a strong smell of smoke wafted through the air on a rural road in Middlesex County Sunday morning. Middlesex County OPP guarded the scene as an active investigation has been underway since just after midnight Sunday morning. A section of Lamont Drive remains closed between Coldstream Road and Komoka Road for the investigation. On Monday, police confirmed that they were investigating the death. A person was found dead in the vehicle, leading to a further investigation. Lamont Drive is still closed east of Komoka Road as the investigation continues.
