Thousands of Disney's biggest fans were the first to learn about new Star Wars, Ratatouille, Tron and Pixar-themed attractions coming to Disney Parks in the next few years.

At D23 Expo 2017, the biannual conference of Disney's official fan club which took place over the weekend, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek offered sneak peeks of the upcoming line-up of attractions coming to Disney parks and resorts.

Here's a round-up of some of the highlights:

Star Wars

"Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge." That's the official name of the hotly anticipated Star Wars-themed lands currently in development at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. Along with revealing the official name, Chapek also revealed that two attractions will anchor the lands: one that puts guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance on a Star Destroyer, and another, in which guests can fly the Millennium Falcon. Popular characters like BB-8, Chewbacca, Rex and Kylo Ren will also roam the lands. "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" opens in 2019, first debuting at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, then at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando.

Tron, Ratatouille and Guardians of the Galaxy at Walt Disney World Resort, Florida

In anticipation of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary in 2021, the park will see the arrival of new attractions including Ratatouille, Guardians of the Galaxy and Tron-themed experiences. Modeled after Disneyland Paris's star attraction, Ratatouille will open in an all-new space in the World Showcase's France pavilion. Guests will experience the restaurant Gusteau's in 4-D as Remy, the dazzlingly gifted chef-rat in Paris. The Guardians of the Galaxy attraction will be an "e-ticket" attraction expanding on the recently opened Mission: Breakout! thrill ride, while a Tron-themed attraction will be added near Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. The Tron thrill ride is the highest-rated attraction at Shanghai Disneyland.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway

The first-ever Mickey-themed ride-through attraction is set to open at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, taking guests into the wacky world of Disney's most iconic characters with surprising twists and visual effects.
