Three Saskatchewan women have started a website to inform women of the problems with implanted surgical mesh and to support those who are suffering from complications.
A U.S. jury has ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $7.76 million in punitive damages to a former nurse who said she endured years of suffering after having a transvaginal mesh inserted in 2006.
A U.S. jury has awarded a former nurse US$3.35 million dollars for pain and suffering caused by her transvaginal mesh implant, and for not being properly warned by the product’s maker -- Ethicon -- a division of Johnson and Johnson.
More women are coming forward to say they are living in agony from the transvaginal plastic mesh they have had implanted to treat incontinence or complications from hysterectomies, and some are having difficulty finding a Canadian doctor willing to remove it.
