If you recently bought Mortadella from Lady York Foods in Toronto's North York region, health officials are warning you may not want to eat it, due to possible listeria contamination.

The deli located at 2939 Dufferin St. is recalling three types of the sliced meat sold on Feb. 11 and on Feb. 18.

According to a notice from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the following products have been recalled:

  • Ferrarini Mortadella, sold Feb. 11
  • Mortadella Regular, sold Feb. 11
  • San Daniele Mortadella (regular or lean), sold Feb. 18

All three products were sliced and sold from the deli counter at Lady York Foods.

Customers who are unsure if they have purchased the affected product are asked to contact the retailer at 416-781-8585.

There have been no confirmed illnesses associated with consumption of the products, CFIA said. The recalled products are being analyzed to determine if they are related to any illnesses.

Food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick, CFIA warned. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, persistent fever, muscle aches, headaches and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
