Parsnip soup with white chocolate, pears and 24-karat gold to start, and flambéed raspberries and champagne-stuffed doughnuts to finish are a couple of the menu items that will be served to Hollywood's biggest stars next Sunday.

World-renowned chef Wolfgang Puck revealed the menu for this year's Governors Ball -- the official Oscars after-party that will be attended by 1,500 guests, including several Hollywood heavyweights.

"Everything is done at the last moment," Puck said in a video posted on his Facebook page on Thursday. "Everything is fresh and delicious."

This year's celebration will mark Puck's 21st consecutive year catering the Governors Ball.

"We have a lot of local grown foods," he said. "We tried to use what is best right now in season."

More than 50 "imaginative dishes" will be served at the event, including, lobster "BLT," mini American Wagyu burgers with aged cheddar cheese and smoked salmon cut in the shape of the Oscars statue.

The vegetarians in attendance can enjoy grape and almond gazpacho with guacamole toast and artichokes with asparagus, fava beans, baby beets and citrus vinaigrette.

For those with less adventurous taste buds, Puck said classics such as pizza, macaroni and cheese and braised short ribs will be on the menu.

Puck said one of his favourite dishes that will be served up on Sunday is roasted potatoes with caviar, which he described as "simple and delicious."

Meanwhile, he said a celebrity favourite is the chicken pot pie with shaved black truffles.

"If it's Barbra Streisand or John Travolta, whoever it is, chicken pot pie is always a favourite."
