Social media has revealed that the upcoming "Jumanji" film will not be a reboot of the original but a continuation of the story 22 years later.

According to entertainment source Slashfilm, the American actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who will star in the upcoming Sony feature, confirmed the fact via his Instagram account. Released in 1996, the original film is based on the story of an old magical board game that comes to life. The Rock will star alongside comedians Kevin Hart and Jack Black.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, the sequel is scheduled to hit theaters July 28, 2017.
